Susan Lakatos has more than two decades of experience in and consulting to business, non-profit, and governmental organizations, both running and analyzing businesses and imparting her expertise to global business leaders and government officials. Her clients include some of the most prestigious organizations in the world, across North America, Europe, the Mideast, and Asia.

 

  • She has shared the podium with numerous business leaders, including two Chairs of the Federal Reserve, Janet Yellen and Alan Greenspan. She was also appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Labor to the United States Department of Labor Business Research Advisory Council, where she served through two different U.S. presidential administrations.

  • Susan Lakatos combines business expertise with creativity, and has trained and shown as an artist. She won a Merit Scholarship to the Art Students League (where she is a Life Member) and qualified as an Artist Member of the Whitney Museum. She has lived and shown her work in the Santa Fe/Taos area, the 2nd largest art market in the US (after New York), and was the artist panelist for a broadcast event at the Taos Center for the Arts.

 

  • Susan has more than 25 years experience in the study of psychology and as a dedicated practitioner of mindfulness and meditation. She enhances her formal training in psychology at both Columbia University and the Jung Institute in Zurich with extensive experiential expertise. She lived on staff at two non-denominational retreat centers, working with a broad range of teachers and programs from silent meditation to personal development, and including such luminaries as Jack Kornfield and Ram Dass (Dr. Richard Alpert). She served retreats of up to 300 people while living for five months in a backpacking tent in the National Forest. Susan has made several trips to India, where she spent months studying with a senior teacher and contemporary co-disciple of Nisargadatta Maharaj, subject of the global bestseller I Am That, who personally trained her and gave her formal initiation into that renowned lineage.

Susan has received numerous professional honors, including recognition as one of the alumnae honored at the Columbia University Women in Business conference, and the only alumna honored for combining business and artistic success. She was also recognized for extraordinary service in the face of disaster after her World Trade Center office was destroyed in the terrorist attacks of 9/11. 

Susan is a certified scuba diver and has logged scores of deepwater dives on shipwrecks in the North Atlantic. She has skydived solo, guiding the parachute to the target unaided. Susan has a motorcycle license, sails, and has traveled to more than 50 countries and all seven continents.
